Talsam is a luxury smart jewelry that acts as a personal communications device for two loved ones.

My role here was to make this connection possible through an app that interacts with that smart jewelry piece.

The main problem this product is solving is long-distance relationships, by giving two loved ones a platform to connect in a more personal way.

Product values

Three main values were established to keep the whole product consistent and to focus on the right direction no matter what features could come up.

The good old whiteboard is always a good way to kick things off. I started by sorting some content that should be mandatory and also think about the user-flow.

User base

For business purposes, and to make the whole experience more exclusive, only two persons would make a connection and only those would have access to the app. That helped to clarify who would be our main users.

Now that the vision was clear regarding the scope of the product, it was time to get wireframes in place, along with the user-flows.

My focus on the UI was to follow a very simple and high-end vibe as the brand demanded.

On-Boarding

When the user opens the app is welcomed by the stars animation presenting the brand.
The On-Boarding is explained in 5 different animations.

Pairing

We use the button in the Talsam to connected it to the app via Bluetooth.

There are four kinds of content to share between users.

Moment Stream

For every kind of content shared the user could also react to each piece with five different emotions, and navigate through time over those emotions. To this area, we called Moment Stream.

SOS

Another feature Talsam has is whenever the user would feel in danger it could just press the button on the Talsam and the SOS contact would get notified right away.

For product validation, we launched a Kickstarter campaign that reached its goal by 133%.

This crowdfund was very helpful, not only to see people interested in the product but also gather some information about the end users.
